Film Frak Podcast 25: SOLO’s REVENGE

Welcome to Film Frak Podcast 25

The humidity was high on a scorching Boston day as your voyeuristic frakkers sat down to record Episode 25 of the Film Frak Podcast, appropriate considering the scorcher of a film that we talk about first.

The month of May was one of the busiest yet with life getting in the way of other plans but there is ALWAYS time for movie watching. How could we not make time when the attractions included a new Star Wars film. A Deadpool sequel some quality exploitation and genre deconstruction, head fuckery, real world fantasy and WWII survival.

On this episode we talk:

  • Revenge

  • You Were Never Really Here
  • The Endless
  • Hostiles
  • I Kill Giants

STAR WARS: Episode VIII The Last Jedi (2017)

STAR WARS: Episode VIII The Last Jedi

Directed by: Rian Johnson
Starring: Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Laura Dern, Benicio Del Toro

This wasn’t my first visit to the cinema. I had seen a few films before now but the only one that had really resonated at all was Disney’s THE JUNGLE BOOK. We grabbed our popcorn, found our seat in the sold out screening and innocently prepared to see “just” another film. The lights went down. There was no advertizing. Straight to a few trailers for upcoming releases, “Chomp”, “chomp”, “chomp” on the popcorn...

Top 30 Most Fraking Anticipated Films of 2015

2014 was a banner year in the Bender house in cinema and 2015 shows a James Leer level of promise. After some Lebowski like investigation (read into that what you will) I’ve managed to detect 54 attractions that put a twinkle in my eye of varied brightness. Of those discoveries, 24 could be labeled wild card’s which leaves the magic 30 that I now present to you the reader with the proviso that they stimulate my own sensibilities and I hope yours too.

As the calendar year has already begun note worthy omissions from this list include the magnificence that is Paul Thomas Anderson’s detective yarn INHERENT VICE which I’ve been fortunate enough to already experience. (Subtle subtext I know...
