Film Frak Podcast Interview Special: Memoir of a Nobody starring Steve Bluestein

Getting to know actor, stand-up comedian, screenwriter and author Steve Bluestein made for a witty, personal back and forth. Having worked at every level of the entertainment industry for over 4 decades Bluestein has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and a seemingly encyclopedic stream of anecdotes and lessons by doing.

As an actor he appeared in one of Film Frak Adam’s staple comedies before he was old enough to know better, the cult abomination THEY CALL ME BRUCE…which was all that was needed to jump at the opportunity of this interview. Small roles in Joan River’s Directorial feature debut RABBIT TEST starring Billy Crystal and in PERFECT GENTLEMEN starring Lauren Bacall are touched on too.

Steve also shares stories from working as a television writer on time capsules like THE BRADY BUNCH VARIETY HOUR and PLAYBOY’S PLAYMATE PARTY.

As a stand-up this is a man that’s worked alongside the likes of Bill Maher, Dennis Miller, Phyliss Diller and Jay Leno. He’s opened for Kenny Loggins, Donna Summer, Barry Manilow and Dolly Parton. All to say this experience leads to a ground-level, glamor-free chat about the comedy circuit, training at The Groundlings to dive bars and the big room in Vegas.

This special interview episode is full of humor, honesty and a little family history. In conversation Steve Bluestein is as sharp and sincere as he is on the pages of his latest book MEMOIR OF A NOBODY. We loved recording and it and be warned, you just might learn something listening to this podcast while having a smile…what that something is however, we just don’t know.
