A review by Jon Caron

So, Black Panther is one of the better Marvel Studios flicks to date.

A solid, low key story that emerses you in the culture of Wakanda through excellent use of costume, music and set design. And man oh man those costumes…seriously, amazing.

The cast is tremendous. Everybody is a badass and is well fleshed out, ESPECIALLY Danai Gurira who kicks so much ass as Okoye. I love, love, LOVE strong, badass warrior women and she is among the greats. I could have watched an entire film of just her character.

NOT so great…standard run of the mill boring, can’t tell what’s going on quick cut action scenes and cartoonishly wonky cgi that sometimes takes you totally out of the illusion entirely. C’mon guys, you’re spending all this money on your production, can you throw a few extra bucks at a goddamn choreographer and make a comprehensible fight scene for once?

All in all, Black Panther is a solid (if not standard) blockbustery type movie going experience. It’s certainly worth throwing your money at, but even I (as the token Marvel fanboy here at FF) am starting to feel the fatigue of these movies…until Avengers: Infinity War comes along anyway.
